MINUTES OF the called MEETING OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
monday – march 26, 1962
The Board of County Commissioners met in a called session in the Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court at Tavares on Monday, March 26, at 2:00 p.m. for the purpose of authorizing Clerk Owens to issue a warrant for interest and other such matters which may be brought before the Board, with the following present: Chairman Simpson; Commissioners Theus and Cowart; Attorney Duncan; and Clerk Owens.
The Board was called to order by Chairman Simpson.
On a motion by Commr. Theus, seconded by Commr. Cowart and carried, Clerk Owens was authorized to draw a warrant in the amount of $17,431.25 on Bond Interest and Sinking Fund (County Buildings) to Bankers Trust Company of New York in payment of interest due on April 1, 1962 on Certificates of Indebtedness issued for the construction of the Jail and Sheriff’s Department, also the remodeling of the Courthouse.
On a motion by Commr. Theus, seconded by Commr. Cowart and carried, the following resolution was adopted:
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has heretofore approved the Appraisal prepared by Appraisers appointed by the Board for the right of way of State Road 500, Section 11010-2501, extending from the west City Limits of Tavares to the Silver Lake forks, and
WHEREAS, said appraisal has been questioned by the State Road Department as to form, and a re-appraisal or redrafting of said appraisal will result in considerable delay and additional expense to Lake County, and
WHEREAS, said Appraisal is in the form heretofore accepted by the State Road Department for a number of years and was commenced prior to any change in the requirements of form;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the approval of said Appraisal by the Board of County Commissioners be, and the same is hereby reapproved, and the State Road Department of the State of Florida is requested to accept the Appraisal for the above Section of State Road 500 as originally submitted, in order to permit progress in the acquisition of right of way.
