MINUTES OF special MEETING OF the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

march 24, 1972

A special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Lake County, Florida, was called for the purpose of considering and establishing a value on illegal fishing equipment seized by the Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission on March 23, 1972.

The meeting convened at 11:50 in the forenoon in the County Commissioners’ meeting room in the Courthouse, Tavares, Florida, with the following members present:  Thomas J. Windram, Chairman; James R. Carson, Jr.; and C. A. Deems.  Frank E. Owens, Clerk of the Circuit Court; and Norma H. Coven, Deputy Clerk, were also in attendance.

Clerk Owens presented return of Wildlife Officer Jack E. Polk showing that the following equipment had been seized belonging to Riley B. Gilbert:

            1 Commercial Catfish Board (FL #2063SF)

            1 Johnson 40 Horse Power Kicker and all attached equipment

   (Model #40ESL-70A, Serial #J3297676)

6 Wire catfish traps

 

And the same had been turned over to the Board of County Commissioners by the seizing officer on March 23, 1972, at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Pursuant to Chapter 372, Florida Statutes, and on motion of Commr. Deems, seconded by Commr. Carson and carried, the Board fixed the estimated value of the above described equipment at $1,000.00.  (Civil Action 72-292).

There being no further business to bring before the Board, the meeting adjourned.
