A special MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

january 25, 1977

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners convened in Special Session on Tuesday, January 25, 1977 at 5:00 P.M., in the Public Works Building, Tavares, Florida for the purpose of selecting an applicant for the position of Courthouse Custodian.  Present were:  C.A. “Lex” Deems, Chairman; James R. Carson, Thomas J. Windram, and J.M Hoskinson. Others present were:  Van Porter, Special Assistant to the Board, and Sharon Mitchell, Deputy Clerk.

Van Porter, Special Assistant to the Board, presented, to the Board, a list of applicants who have been interviewed by the Personnel Department and were recommended for consideration by the Board.  The applicants were placed under two listings, either qualified as “General & Light Mechanical”, or as “General Maintenance.”

Discussion was held as to what qualifications are needed to fill the present need.  The Board agreed that someone with general and light mechanical experience is needed at this time.

On a motion by Commr. Carson, seconded by Commr. Hoskinson and carried by those present, the Board approved the hiring of Mr. William Wall, for the position of Custodial Supervisor, at an annual salary of $7,200.

There being no further business to be brought before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 5:30 P.M.
