SPECIAL BUDGET MEETING

JULY 24, 1979

            The Lake County Board of County Commissioners convened in Special Budget Meeting on Tuesday, July 24, 1979, at 1:30 P.M. in the Board of County Commissioners' Meeting Room, Courthouse, Tavares, Florida. Commissioners present were: Thomas J. Windram, Chairman; C. A. "Lex" Deems; and Glenn C. Burhans. Others present were: James C. Watkins, Clerk; Donald W. Smalt, Deputy in Charge of the Fiscal Division; and Mary Grover.

            The Board generally discussed the relationship of anticipated revenue and the proposed budgets as analyzed by the Finance Department under the guidelines given by the Board at its last budget meeting.

            After considerable discussion, the Board concluded that each agency (department) submitting budgets should be requested to review their proposed 1980 budgets under the following guidelines:

            1. No additional positions.


            2. The expenses, other than salaries, be held at the same level as the originally approved budget for 1978-79.

            On a motion by Commr. Burhans, seconded by Commr. Deems and carried, the Board instructed the Clerk to notify all the agencies affected. The Board further requested the Clerk to discuss this with the other Constitutional Officers.

            RESOLUTIONS/SIGNS/PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

            On a motion by Commr. Burhans, seconded by Commr. Deems and carried, the Board instructed the Public Works Department to install a "No Trucks" sign at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Turner Avenue in Three Lakes Subdivision.

            There being no further business to be brought to the attention of the Board, adjournment was at 2:40 P.M.
