Neil Kelly, Clerk of the Circuit Court sucessfully completes the required 240-hour New Clerk Training.
The Supreme Court of Florida has confirmed Clerk of the Circuit Court Neil Kellys successfull completion of the required 240-hour New Clerk Training. Mr. Kelly was appointed as Clerk of the Circuit Court for Lake County in November 2007 by Governor Charlie Crist and was subsequently elected to that office in 2008.
Neil Kelly shared his views of the certification process. The New Clerk Certification program was one of the most intense and informative programs I have attended. It not only provided intuitive training; it also gave a birds-eye view of several Clerks offices throughout the State as training moved to their venues. Seeing how others approach the same processes provides some of the best insight possible for a new Clerk.
The training program was established by Administrative Order of the Supreme Court. The 240 hours of credit are required for certification within 24 months of assuming office. Required elements of the program are as follows:
General Orientation/Office transition,
Administration and Office Management,
Court Services and Operations,
Records Maintenance and Management,
Financial Administration and Management,
Office Technology and Resources,
State and County Governments Organization, Structure and Relationships, and
Personal Skills Development.
