MINUTES OF called MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY commissioners

 monday, october 27, 1958

 

The Board of County Commissioners met in called session in the County Commissioners Room in the Courthouse at Tavares on Monday, October 27, 1958, at 9 o’clock a.m., for the purpose of selecting 500 names for jurors to be placed in the jury box, as the names in the box have been exhausted, with the following present:  Commissioners Theus, Cowart, and Cross; and Clerk Owens.  Commr. Hooten came in about 9:30.  Chairman Simpson and Attorney Duncan were not present.

The Board was called to order by Clerk Owens.

On a motion by Commr. Theus, seconded by Commr. Cross and carried, Commr. Cowart was to serve as the temporary chairman.

Clerk Owens read the following Order:

“IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF THE FIFTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA, IN AND FOR LAKE COUNTY.

It having been made known to the Court that the names available for calling of jurors in the jury box are exhausted and it being necessary to draw jurors for trials of cases at this term of Court, it is now therefore

ORDERED that the Board of County Commissioners do meet and select and have placed in the jury box for the Circuit Court, 500 names, and that the same be accomplished during the week of October 27, 1958.

DONE AND ORDERED at Tavares, Lake County, Florida, this 22^nd day of October, 1958.

TAVARES, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA – OCTOBER 27, 1958

We, the Board of County Commissioners in and for Lake County in the State of Florida, DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the following is a true and correct list of the additional names of persons selected by us for Jury duty to serve in the Circuit Court of the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Florida, in and for said County of Lake; and we have personally selected and verified said list, and said persons named have the qualifications required by Section 40.01 Florida Statutes, according to the best of our knowledge, information, and belief.
