MINUTES OF the special MEETING OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

 monday – june 1, 1960

The Board of County Commissioners met in called session in the office of Frank E. Owens, Clerk of the Board in the Courthouse at Tavares on Wednesday, June 1, 1960 at 1:30 PM, for the purpose of approving the Bond of Henrietta S. Horner as County Judge and such other business as may be brought before the Board, with the following present:  Commissioners Theus, Cowart, Bishop and Simpson; Attorney Duncan; and Clerk Owen.

In the absence of Chairman Cross, Mr. Theus, Acting Chairman, called the Board to order.

On motion of Commr. Cowart, seconded by Commr. Simpson, and carried, the Bond of Henrietta S. Horner with American Surety Company of New York, in the amount of $5,000.00, who was on the 31st day of May 1960 appointed County Judge of Lake County to hold office until her successor is qualified, and according to the Constitution and Laws of this State, was approved.

Motion by Commr. Bishop, seconded by Commr. Cowart, and carried, the following named persons were appointed to appraise a certain tract of land which the County desires to purchase for a clay pit in District No. 3. 

 -     O. H. Keene; Ben Harmon and Arthur George, all of Clermont.
