MINUTES OF adjourned MEETING OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

 thursday - july 27, 1961

The Board of County Commissioners met in adjourned session in the County Commissioners room in the Courthouse at Tavares on Thursday, July 27, 1961 at ten o’clock a.m., for the purpose of hearing requests and complaints from the public regarding the tentative budgets of Lake County for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1961 and ending September 30, 1962, and such other matters as may be brought before the Board, with the following present:  Vice Chairman Cowart; Commissioners Babb, Dykes, and Simpson; Attorney Duncan; and Clerk Owens. 

The Board was called to order by Vice Chairman Cowart.

notary public bonds

The following Notary Public Bonds with American Fire & Casualty Company were approved by the Board:  O. M. Simpson and Lucile M. Callaway.

house committee for veterans hall in umatilla appointed

Commr. Babb appointed Mrs. R. W. Maxwell, Jr. to take the place of Mrs. Maxwell, Sr., deceased; and Mr. Charles Demko Jr. as new members to serve as the House Committee for the Veterans Hall in Umatilla for the ensuing year, with him as County Commissioner.  The members now on the Committee to continue to serve are as follows:  Mr. Sam Marks, Chairman; Mrs. Walter Whitcomb; Mrs. C. F. Hoagland; and Mr. John Williams.

budget

On a motion by Commr. Dykes, seconded by Commr. Babb and carried, the Budgets as advertised were adopted tentatively.

 

 

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
