MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING CALLED BY THE Board of County Commissioners ON FRIDAY–MARCH 8, 1963
A public hearing called by the Board of County Commissioners for Friday, March 8, 1963, was held in the auditorium at the Agriculture Center at Tavares. Forty-nine persons were present. Chairman Dykes presided and called the meeting to order at 9 o’clock A. M. The Chairman requested Dr. J. Basil Hall; Mr. Gordon W. Folk, Engineer, State Board of Health; and Attorney C. E. Duncan to sit at the speaker’s table.
Mr. Folk was introduced by Dr. Hall who gave a general outline of the new regulation of the State Board of Health pertaining to water distribution systems and also sewer systems. Mr. Folk stated that all counties in the State will be required to abide by this regulation, and that it is the duty of the local Health Departments to enforce the regulation.

After hearing everyone who wanted to be heard, Mr. Dykes announced that a meeting would be called in the near future with two representatives from the builders, developers, realtors, the County Engineer, County Attorney, Dr. Hall and the legislative delegation. Mr. Dykes asked that this group give this matter serious thought in order to present concrete ideas at the forthcoming meeting.
