MINUTES OF special MEETING OF BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

tuesday – june 14, 1966

The Board of County Commissioners of Lake County, Florida, met in special session in the Office of the Clerk of Circuit Court in the Courthouse in Tavares, for the purpose of establishing a rental price on Mosquito Control equipment.

The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. by the Chairman with the following members present:  Chairman Theus, Commrs. Cowart, Dykes, and Livingston.  Also present were Clerk Owens and Mosquito Control Director Paul Director.  Commr. Babb was absent.

Mr. Milton stated the Orange County Mosquito Control had contacted him and advised there is an encephalitis epidemic in Orange County and they are desirous of renting our surplus fogging equipment.

On motion of Commr. Dykes, seconded by Commr. Cowart and unanimously carried, the Board agreed to the following:

Lake County will furnish three fog trucks with drivers, one mechanic, two trucks will be used for transportation of the men.  One mixing truck will be furnished without charge.

Orange County will furnish gas, oil, spray material, and repair costs; drivers’ and mechanics’ time, mileage at 10 cents per mile, and 75 cents per hour rental for each fog truck.

 

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
