MINUTES OF special MEETING OF the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

 THURSDAY, JULY 23, 1970

A special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners of Lake County, Florida was held in the Commissioners’ Room in the Courthouse, Tavares, Florida, at 9:00 o’clock A.M. for the purpose of considering the budget for the Fiscal Year 1970-71, and any other matters which might be brought before the Board.

The meeting was called to order by the Chairman with the following present:  James R. Carson, Chairman; Alex J. Macdonell, J. M. Hoskinson, Thomas J. Windram and Kenneth VanAuken; Clerk of the Circuit Court Frank E. Owens and Deputy Clerk Doris Babb.

On motion of Commr. Hoskinson seconded by Commr. Windram and carried, admission to the Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, St. Augustine was approved for Roseitta Youman.

On motion of Commr. Macdonell seconded by Commr. Hoskinson and carried, the Board approved the proposal from Hottinger Tile, Linoleum & Carpet in the amount of $92.00 to remove and replace tile in three rooms in the Juvenile Shelter.

On motion of Commr. Hoskinson seconded by Commr. VanAuken and carried, payment of $83.75 to Hoag Engine Service was approved for repairs to air boat.

Final payment to A. W. Smith & Son for work performed on the Lake Memorial Nursing Home in the amount of $3,673.00 was approved on motion of Commr. Windram seconded by Commr. VanAuken and carried.  Releases of liens from sub-contractors and vendors were attached to the request for payment.

There being no further business to bring before the Board, the meeting adjourned.
