The Deputy Clerk read the proof of publication.  Commr. Deems explained to those present that this millage increase would increase the dollar value on an individual’s property in this district by $.09 per $1000.

Mrs. Penny Bolder asked if her suggestion of donations would be tried before the taxes were raised.  It was stated that due to the time element in getting this budget approved in Tallahassee, it would not be feasible to attempt to raise money in this matter.

Mrs. Wilma Ferguson asked when it was anticipated that the taxes in this district would be raised again for this purpose.  Chief Robert Taylor responded to this question.

At this time, Commr. Deems stated that the Board would consider the adoption of this millage increase by resolution on Tuesday, September 13, 1977 at 9:00 a.m. in the Board of County Commissioners Room, Courthouse, Tavares, Florida.

There being no further business to be brought before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 5:16 p.m.
