A SPECIAL SESSION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

JUNE 30, 1981

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners convened in Special Session on Tuesday, June 30, 1981, at 1:30 p.m. in the Board of County Commissioners' Meeting Room, Courthouse, Tavares, Florida. Commissioners present were: Glenn C. Burhans, Chairman; Thomas J. Windram; Claude Smoak; and C. A. "Lex" Deems. Others present were: James C. Watkins, Clerk; Don Smalt, Executive Assistant, Bill LeHeup, Senior Clerk; and Cathy Roy, Secretary.

CETA

Commr. Windram read a memo addressed to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners concerning appointments of representatives to the CETA Prime Sponsor Planning Council. Listed below are the local organizations presented to the Board of County Commissioners for representation on the Planning Council.

After discussion between Commr. Smoak and Commr. Windram concerning the services of the South Lake Farmworkers Association and the necessity to broaden the description of the local organizations in order that more local organizations interested in the program could participate, it was determined that South Lake Farmworkers Association would be deleted from the Agricultural Employers and Workers category and that the following sentence be incorporated into the above list of organizations: "...and any other eligible participants and workers."

CETA/CONTRACT & LEASES AND AGREEMENTS

On a motion by Commr. Deems, Seconded by Commr. Carson and carried unanimously, the Board approved the lease agreement between Emery and Ann Dillard, as lessor, and Lake County CETA Department, as lessee, as prepared and submitted by Chris Ford, County Attorney, to be signed by Chairman Burhans and James C. Watkins, Clerk.

There being no further business to be brought to the attention of the Board, the meeting adjourned at 2:00 p.m.
