A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

AUGUST 17, 1982

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners met in special session on Tuesday, August 17, 1982, at 5:05 P.M. in the Board of County Commissioners Meeting Room, Tavares, Florida. Present at the meeting were the following: James R. Carson, Jr.; Thomas J. Windram; C. A. "Lex" Deems; and Glenn C. Burhans. Others present were : Sanford Minkoff, County Attorney's Office, Donald W. Smalt, Administrative Services Director: Robert L. Wilson, Finance Director; Bill LeHeup, Senior Clerk; Michael C. Willett, Director of Development and Public Works; and Mary C. Grover, Secretary.

BUDGETS

At 5:05 P.M. the Chairman announced the advertised time had arrived for the Public Hearing to determine the use of the Revenue Sharing Funds for the Fiscal Year 1982-83.

Mr. Donald Smalt, Administrative Services Director, informed the Board that $780,000.00 had been anticipated from Revenue Sharing for the 1982-83 budget. He stated the Federal Government has revised the figures to $587,121.00. He further stated that the revised figure would drop the County's budget from $3,549,760.00 to $3,366,515.00.

Commr . Carson explained to Mr. Thomas, who was also present at the meeting, the procedure of the Revenue Sharing Hearing. Mr. Thomas questioned if the Revenue Sharing Funds were used for road improvements. Commr. Carson explained that the County has used Revenue Sharing for capital (one-time) expenditures.

There being no further business to be brought to the attention of the Board, the meeting adjourned at 5:lO P.M..
