Lake County Clerk's Office - COVID-19 UPDATES

PLEASE NOTE:In accordance with the 5th Judicial Circuit's Administrative Order 2021-52-A, face masks and social distancing are not required while visiting the courthouse; however, all persons entering the Courthouse for routine business are encouraged to wear a face mask.

To protect the health and safety of those needing services provided by the Lake County Clerk’s Office, we offer remote services.

General Delivery-of-Service Information:

  • Pay Criminal & Traffic Fees & Fines Online: Payments of eligible traffic tickets and criminal fees and fines are available using the CLERKPay Online Court Payments System. Payments may be made by credit card. Credit Cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. The only debit cards which will be accepted are those with the Visa or MasterCard logo. The financial service provider charges a nominal, nonrefundable fee for each credit card transaction paid online.

  • Pay Criminal & Traffic Fees/Fines By Phone:
    • Civil Traffic Tickets:

      If you are within 30 days from the date you received your traffic ticket, and you would like to pay your ticket and are not attending driver improvement school, you can call our automated voice response telephone line at (855) 984-1187 to make your payment 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The system will prompt you for your driver license number and date of birth, and will then walk you through making your payment. NOTE: This option is not available for tickets that require proof of valid registration, driver license, or insurance.

      Criminal Fees, Fines, and Costs or Past-Due Traffic Tickets:

      To make a payment for an eligible traffic or criminal fee or fine by phone, call (352) 742-3846 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.


  • Alimony & Child Support Payments/Information: Child Support payments may be paid online at http://FL.SmartChildSupport.com. Payments can also be mailed by check or money order to State of Florida Disbursement Unit, P.O. Box 8500, Tallahassee, FL 32314. Be sure to include your full name, case number, and “Lake County” with your payment. All in-person alimony and child support payments are being processed in the Courthouse’s East Wing, First Floor from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closing from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.).

  • Civil & Criminal Services: Filing of court documents can be done online at https://www.myflcourtaccess.com, or by visiting the Courthouse’s East Wing, First Floor. The hours for the Civil Court Customer Service Counter are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday (closing from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.) Filings can also be deposited for next-business-day processing in the Lake County Clerk’s drop-boxes located in Leesburg (1720 N. Citrus Blvd.), Tavares (418 W. Alfred St.), and Clermont (290 Citrus Tower Blvd., Suite 116). Those persons scheduled for a court appearance that need to file a change of address can download the form online and email it to [email protected] for processing.

  • Grand Jury & Jury Duty: Petit and Grand Jury proceedings have resumed.

  • Injunctions for Protection: Injunctions for protection will continue to be processed in the Courthouse’s East Wing, Third Floor from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 1:30 to 5 p.m.

  • Marriage Licenses: All marriage license processing will take place in the Courthouse’s North Wing, Third Floor (550 W. Main St., Tavares), the South Lake Branch Office (290 Citrus Tower Blvd., Suite 116, Clermont), or at the North Lake Branch Office (902 Avenida Central, The Villages of Lady Lake).

  • Mental Health, Guardianship, & Probate: All services will continue to be processed in the Courthouse’s East Wing, Second Floor. All Baker and Marchman Act proceedings shall be conducted remotely until further notice.

  • Passport Processing: Passport applications will be processed by appointment only in Courthouse’s North Wing, Third Floor (550 W. Main St., Tavares), the South Lake Branch Office (290 Citrus Tower Blvd., Suite 116, Clermont), or the North Lake Branch Office (902 Avenida Central, The Villages of Lady Lake).   • Recording & Tax Deeds: Those wanting to record documents electronically can set up an account with a verified e-recording vendor. For more details, visit the Lake County Clerk’s website. In-person recording services will continue at the Records Storage Facility, 313 S. Bloxham Ave., Tavares from 8:30 a.m. to noon, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tax deed services and recording services will continue in the Courthouse in the North Wing, Third Floor. Tax Deed Sales will remain online at https://www.lake.realtaxdeed.com.

For those looking to make a next-business-day payment, submit documents for recording, or deliver court documents for filing, the Clerk’s Office offers convenient drop-box locations for these services, which are available 24/7 at the following locations:

  • Clermont
    290 Citrus Tower Blvd., Suite 116, Clermont
    Pickup Time: 10:45 a.m., Monday through Friday
  • Downtown Tavares (Guardian Ad Litem/Veterans Services Building)
    418 W. Alfred St., Tavares
    Pickup Time: 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday
  • Leesburg
    1720 N. Citrus Blvd., Leesburg
    Pickup Time: 10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday

Items can also be mailed to the Lake County Clerk’s Office at P.O. Box 7800, Tavares, FL 32778. Please allow ample time for delivery and processing. Check and money order payments to the Clerk’s Office should be made payable to “Gary J. Cooney, Clerk of Court & Comptroller."
