Do business with the Clerk's Office online, by phone, by mail, and drop-box

The Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller offers online, over-the-phone, mail, and drop-box deposit services to help customers who wish to do business with the Clerk’s Office, without visiting the courthouse.

Pay Traffic Tickets Online:

Civil traffic tickets may be paid online if paid within 60 days of the offense date. Payments of eligible traffic tickets can be made online at https://www.myfloridacounty.com/traffic_tickets/index.html. If paying after the 60-day window, you can make a payment by phone at (352) 742-3846 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Traffic and Criminal Payments by Phone:

The Clerk’s Office collects fines, fees, and costs for traffic and criminal payments and distributes the proceeds according to Florida Statutes. To make a payment by phone, call (352) 742-3846 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Credit Cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. The only debit cards which will be accepted are those with the Visa or MasterCard logo. The name on the credit or debit card must match the name on the court case. A 3.5% nonrefundable fee will be charged by the financial service provider for each credit card transaction.

Pay Child Support Online or by Mail:

Child Support payments may be paid online at http://FL.SmartChildSupport.com. Payments can also be mailed by check or money order to State of Florida Disbursement Unit, P.O. Box 8500, Tallahassee, FL 32314. Be sure to include your full name, case number, and “Lake County” with your payment.

Filing Court Documents Online:

Anyone can file a court document online at https://www.myflcourtaccess.com.

Recording Documents Online:

Those wanting to record documents electronically should contact a verified e-recording vendor. For more details, visit the Lake County Clerk’s Official Records Division.

Drop Boxes:

For those looking to make a next-business-day payment, submit documents for recording, or deliver court documents for filing, the Clerk’s Office offers convenient drop-box locations for these services, which are available 24/7. Check and money order payments to the Clerk’s Office should be made payable to “Gary J. Cooney, Clerk of Court & Comptroller. Drop-boxes are available at the following two locations:

  • Downtown Tavares (Guardian Ad Litem/Veterans Services Building)
    418 W. Alfred Street, Tavares
    Pickup Time: 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday

  • Leesburg
    1720 N. Citrus Blvd, Leesburg
    Pickup Time: 10:30 a.m., Monday through Friday

Mail:

For those looking to make a payment, submit documents for recording, or send court documents for filing, you can mail your items to the Lake County Clerk’s Office at P.O. Box 7800, Tavares, FL 32778. Please allow ample time for delivery and processing. Check and money order payments to the Clerk’s Office should be made payable to “Gary J. Cooney, Clerk of Court & Comptroller.
