Inspector General Audit Manager/Inspector General Audit Director:

ONLY ONE POSITION WILL BE FILLED, DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS (REVIEW JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):

Inspector General Audit Manager: Under the direction of the Inspector General, is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting of audits in order to analyze and evaluate risks and the effectiveness of procedures, programs, and operating controls to mitigate risks. Manages the hiring, training, workload, and performance of auditors. This position is distinguished from others in this classification by the increased level of experience, education, and training required as well as the complexity of work performed. This position is classified as exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. All applications must be received in the Clerk’s Human Resources Office before the position closes to be considered. Starts at $31.62 per hour ($61,659 annually). Open until closed.

Inspector General Audit Director: Under the direction of the Inspector General, is responsible for planning, executing, and reporting of audits in order to analyze and evaluate risks and the effectiveness of procedures, programs, and operating controls to mitigate risks. Manages the hiring, training, workload, and performance of auditors. Investigates potential fraud, waste, and abuse situations. This position is distinguished from others in this classification by the increased level of experience, education, and training required as well as the complexity of work performed. This position is classified as exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Inspector General Auditor II: Under the direction of the Inspector General or Audit Manager, is responsible for planning, performing, and reporting on recurring and routine engagements, and risk and control consulting services. Assists with planning, executing, and reporting of more complex audits, consulting services, and investigations. Leads follow-up audits and acts as the system administrator for Inspector General applications. This position is distinguished from others in this classification by the level of experience, education, and training required as well as the complexity of work performed. This position is classified as exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Must have a valid driver's license. Starts at $27.78 per hour ($54,171.00 annually). Mail Clerk: Under the direct supervision of a Senior Clerk, processes incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring that it is free of suspicious characteristics/substances. This position is classified as non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. A typing assessment is required before the application can be submitted for consideration. This position does not require a minimum score; the qualification is that you “must be able to type”. Your completed typing assessment results will be automatically forwarded to Human Resources. Human Resources must be in receipt of your completed typing assessment, prior to the position closing in order to submit your application for the position. Must have a valid Florida Driver's License. Starts at $15.02 per hour ($29,289.00 annually). Open until closed.

Employment

The Clerk’s Office accepts applications for open positions only. Human Resources will keep applications on file for six months from the date originally submitted. After six months, you must submit a new employment application to account for changes and updates.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications to be considered for open positions. It is the applicant’s responsibility to notify Human Resources of their desire to have their application considered for an open position. Applicants may be invited for an interview if their skills and experience best meet the needs of the Clerk’s Office.

Application Process:

To be considered for employment, applicants must complete an application. Applicants must notify Human Resources of open position(s) for which they would like to be considered. One application can be submitted for multiple open positions. Resumes will only be accepted with a completed employment application.

There are three ways to receive an employment application:

  1. Download the Employment Application (PDF).
  2. Send an e-mail to [email protected] requesting an application. 
  3. Pick-up an Employment Application at the Lake County Courthouse, 550 W. Main St., North Wing, Third Floor, Tavares, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

All applications, including required typing assessments, must be received in the Clerk’s Human Resources Office before the position closes to be considered.

Applications must be completed in their entirety, by typing, or if in writing, using blue or black ink only. Be sure to include any additional applicable documents, such as resumes, degrees, DD214s, etc. with the application. Completed applications may be emailed, delivered, or mailed as indicated below.

A representative from the Human Resources Office reviews all applications, confirms receipt thererof, and informs applicants if additional information or a typing test is required for the position.

Typing Tests:

A Human Resources representative will provide information regarding test administration upon receipt of a completed application for employment. Preliminary typing tests can be taken remotely for submission with an employment application. Minimum typing requirements must be met in order to be considered for those positions requiring typing skills. As a condition of an offer of employment, applicants must take a typing test administered at the Clerk’s Human Resources Office, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Please note that it is the applicant's responsibility to arrange to take the typing test.
